Our Team

Tony Lantagne - President
Upon graduation from high school, Tony attended George Mason University for two years. Tony then moved to Richmond and attended Virginia Commonwealth University. He graduated from VCU with a BS in Mass Communications (Public Relations) and proceeded to work as the production manager for an appellate filing services company from 1988 to 1991. Along with his father and wife, Tony co-founded Lantagne Legal Printing in 1992. Today, he oversees the day to day operations of Lantagne Legal and serves the needs of clients filing in the Court of Appeals of Virginia, Virginia Supreme Court, and United States Supreme Court.

Elwood Earl "Sandy" Sanders - Senior Appellate Consultant
Sandy earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama in 1983. He served as the Appellate Defender for the Commonwealth of Virginia from 1996 through 2000, appealing hundreds of cases in both Virginia and Federal courts. An author of seven published law review/journal articles, he is also an adjunct assistant professor at the School of Continuing Studies, University of Richmond. Sandy has also served as an adjunct professor of law at U of R's T.C. Williams School of Law and is a member of the Appellate Practice Subcommittee of the Litigation Section of the Virginia State Bar. Sandy joined Lantagne Legal Printing in 2007 and works as an Appellate Procedure Specialist, serving clients who file in the Court of Appeals of Virginia and the Supreme Court of Virginia.

May Serafim - Senior Appellate Consultant
From 1987 to 1997, May co-owned Brief Printing Specialists, a well known and respected appellate services company in Richmond. Before beginning her career in appellate services, she worked for the Central Intelligence Agency, spending time in both Washington, D.C. and Europe. After her time in the CIA, she owned a small and popular restaurant located in downtown Richmond. Brief Printing Specialists merged with Lantagne Legal Printing in 1997, and May continues to serve both old and new clients with her expertise in filing procedure for Federal Appellate Courts - most commonly, the Fourth Circuit and United States Supreme Court.

Rick Markell - Vice President /Production Supervisor
Rick graduated from James Madison University in 1990 with a BA in English. He began his career as a paralegal at the law firm of Wright, Robinson, Osthimer and Tatum. Later, he moved to a paralegal position at Sands, Anderson, Marks & Miller, working in their risk management division, specializing in insurance defense litigation. Rick joined Lantagne Legal Printing in 2001 as the Production Manager, overseeing all facets of scanning, printing, binding, filing and mailing.

Donald Lantagne – Former President, Retired
With twenty years of military service in both the Marines and the Army, Donald finished his military career after two tours of duty at the Pentagon. He earned an Associate in Science from the University of the State of New York while in the service. After retiring from the Army, Donald worked as the Print Shop Supervisor for Planning Research Corporation in McLean, Virginia. He then graduated from the University of Maryland in 1982 with a BS in Business Administration. In 1987, he left PRC to open his own print shop/copy center, Space Reproductions. Donald sold his interest in Space Reproductions and formed a partnership with Tony and Donna Lantagne (his son and daughter-in-law), which led to the opening of Lantagne Legal Printing in June of 1992.
